Marc Rubin's Chicago Room Gallery & Espresso Bar, About Us

Artist Marc Rubin's former art studio and gallery was located at 2853 N Halsted from 1996 to 2001. He relocated to La Grange, Illinois through late 2003. In 2004 Marc worked at his private studio in East Lakeview, Chicago creating commissioned paintings and launching his new Giclee' lithograph studio. In the summer of 2005 his art representative Jeffrey Rose and associate Arthur Billman asked the artist to create a concept for a new gallery. The result is a Coffee House/Barrista combined with the Marc Rubin Gallery. Whether you come in to enjoy and purchase fine art by Marc and others or come by to relax with a cappucino the atmosphere and comfortable furnishings are designed for your enjoyment. Our concept stems from the earliest coffee houses in England at the turn of the twentieth century however, the Chicago Room is far more than a coffee place. We have Free Wi-Fi (we are a wireless internet hot-spot) and gourmet pies and pastry. Special events such as Sunday afternoon movies (starting late spring 2006), art openings, music and dance performance, comedy nights and jewelry shows augment our weekly schedule. The gallery opened with a special event on December 17th 2005 and our LaVazza Coffee and gourmet Tea kitchen started serving in late January of 2006.
